Children Running Through
I used to be shy.
You made me sing.
I used to refuse things
at table.
Now I shout for more wine.
In somber dignity, I used
to sit
on my mat and pray.
Now children run through
and make faces at me.

I don't have too much to update you guys on today, and I don't want to create content where none exists. Mom and I did discover this awesome upscale consignment store, however, and I got this awesome curry colored peacoat and grey fur lined overcoat that I can't wait to wear. Mom got this really cute wooden cheese and crackers serving board shaped like France (I am a total Francophile) and has the names of several different French cities carved on it.
I wanted to update you guys on tomorrow, since it will be a BIG day and I probably won't have time to post in the evening. I'm leaving for my trip to Australia and New Zealand tomorrow! My flight for LA leaves at about 5:30 pm (I got upgraded to first class for both legs of my journey!) and then my 16 hour (!!!) flight from LAX to Melbourne leaves at 7:15 pm but because of the time difference, I won't get there until 11:30 am on Friday the 6th. I am SO excited and there will certainly be a TON more to share (and too much left unsaid, I'm sure) and hopefully loads of pictures, too.
PS I just started reading this new book called The Motivation Manifesto by Brendan Burchard (well, technically, I am listening to it on audiobook because of all of the driving I've been doing - I love audiobooks). I used to totally judge self-help books and avoid the genre entirely. Recently, however, I've come across some great "self-help" books (like The Seat of the Soul, The Untethered Soul, Eckhart Tolle's books, and so, so much more...). One of the things that is particularly compelling to me about The Motivation Manifesto is Burchard's use of alliterations. They are one of my favorite literary devices and the symmetry and sound and structure of them is nothing short of captivating (and the concepts also stay with me more easily). In any case, once I'm back from my trip, I will also be sure to include some movie, book, concert, and theater review on here...
