If every morning you can find a reason...
Meditation: Day 22 - One Thing to Celebrate Every Day
Synopsis: As life becomes richer and more fulfilling, our entire perspective shifts. We see that life itself, the simple fact of being here, is cause for celebration. We celebrate that the true self brings constant love and support. We recognize the spiritual core of every human being is freedom, love, and joy. In a world weighed down by many burdens, this is the most uplifting truth we can follow.

"If every morning, you can find a reason to say, 'Yes, it’s going to be a beautiful day.' And every day, you find a reason to say, 'Yes, it is a beautiful day.' And every night, you find a reason to say, 'Yes, it was a beautiful day.' Then one day, you’ll look back and easily say, 'Yes…It was a beautiful life.'" - Doe Zantamat
Sometimes in life, darkness pulls down on us so strongly and so deeply, that we focus only on our roots and fail to see the sprout that has broken earth or the bud that has blossomed open to the sunlight.
In addition to paying attention to the beauty and blessings in ourselves and in the world around us, me must challenge the way in which we see and think about our darkness. For like roots, our darkness and the challenges that life presents us with can ground us. They can give us a foundation of strength, courage, perseverance, and resilience in the world. They can give balance to our sprouts - to our achievements and good fortune in life - by keeping us humble and connected.
Our darkness and the difficulties of our past and present are a part of us and our story, much like a plant's roots. However, we need not be defined by them. Also like plants, we may draw fortitude and vitality from our "roots" but we are characterized by our "flowers " our "fruit" and our "leaves."
Branches can only reach high when roots are deep. When the roots are deep, there is no reason to fear the wind.
Mantra: I draw strength from my roots.

- Stand or sit beside a tree and place your hands upon it.
- Observe the tree in its majesty - branches extending towards the sky, leaves bursting with color, bark sturdy and strong.
- Remind yourself for what you don't see - what goes on under the ground.
- Trees grow roots for strength, stability, and to be able to sustain themselves and their beauty. Yet, we do not see the roots and only enjoy a tree's "outside" beauty.
- Meditate on how what goes on inside of us is much like the roots of a tree.
Mantra: I draw strength from my roots.
