Soccer Balls, Horses, and Puppets
Stop letting the opinions of others control your life.
Stop being the soccer ball of other people's opinions.
Stop allowing them to kick you around on a whim.
Stop giving over the reins to your life to other people.
Stop allowing their fancies to direct you the way a jockey and blinders do to a horse.
Stop being the puppet to other people's likings.
Stop putting yourself in the role of marionette to their strings.
You are free.
You get to - and ought to - decide which way to turn and how to proceed.
You get to chart the course.
You get to steer the ship of your life in the direction you choose.
In the enduring words of William Ernest Henley:
"I am the master of my fate,
I am the captain of my soul."
PS There are a LOT of picture quotes below that I spent a while gathering because they are all so applicable and insightful!
