Just Because You Can

Just because you can do something doesn't mean that you should.

When we think about this advice, we think of it as applying solely to "bad"/ negative things.

For example, just because you can be mean, doesn't mean that you should.

Just because you can lie, doesn't mean that you should.

And so on.

But this advice also applies to neutral and even "good"/ positive things.

For example, just because you can afford to buy a Lamborghini, doesn't mean that you should.

Just because you can agree with your friend, doesn't mean that you should (especially if you don't believe in what they are saying).

Just because you can say yes to helping someone by taking on an additional commitment, does not mean that you should (especially when you are already feeling overwhelmed).

You get the idea.

Know your values.

Know your priorities.

Know your limits.
