Affirmation: One step at a time. That is how I will get to where I am going.

Word of Day: flack (adj): to provide publicity: engage in press-agentry.

This Day

This is not a day for asking questions,
not a day on any calendar.

This day is conscious of itself.
This day is a lover, bread and gentleness.

Medical School Related Blog Changes (Not Immediate!)

I attended Second Look Day at the University of Colorado School of Medicine today. For those of you who weren't aware, I will be starting medical school there in the fall! Though I will still write posts about a variety of different topics (and please know that topic requests are always welcome - just leave me a comment!), I will be transitioning this blog slightly in terms of frequency of posts (daily is getting pretty difficult, especially given the double load of MBA classes I am currently taking and upcoming travel/ summer plans.... and medical school!). I will also be transitioning this blog in terms of content: specifically, I will be sharing thoughts about the experience and process of being a medical school student! Please feel free to share my blog with people who might be interested in med school or people in medical school or doctors or residents (or simply people who are interested in reading about these topics).

Second Look Day was incredible and exhausting and motivating and so many other things. CU was and is my dream school and I feel so lucky and honored and humbled to be starting here. For those of you who have medical school thoughts/ experience, I would love to hear them!

This is certainly a period of major changes in my life, but I am reminded that life is constantly changes - whether we like it or not. I also know that resisting or refusing to accept change's inevitability only leads to suffering. While change can be painful and often out of our control, leaning into it and approaching it wholeheartedly and proactively can enable us to respond in ways that allow to grow as a result of the change. In so doing, we not only feel more empowered; we also increase our self-confidence in our ability to handle whatever life brings us and to know when to ask for help. You are so much more capable and resourceful than you can imagine.

- What changes are you currently facing in your life?

- How do you feel about your ability to handle change? What are you strengths and weaknesses in doing so?
