Here's the thing about your life - about my life and about all our lives:
It goes on.
No matter what happens, life happens.
It may sound like an intuitive concept, but the implications run deep.
We don't get to be in a constant state of happiness, excitement, and pleasure.
But that also means that the sadness, the pain, the anger, and the shame won't last forever, either.
Whatever the situation is and whatever your thoughts, feelings, and bodily sensations about it are, remember that they, too will pass.
The key is to not grasp at the "good" and push away the "bad."
Let them flow through you.
Show up. Do your best. Have compassion for self and others. Let the rest go.
PS Acclaimed poet Robert Frost wrote, "Nothing gold can stay."
Novelist Victor Hugo countered. "Even the darkest night will end and the sun will rise."
